Guest Post on the Office Elf Blog

Hi everyone. As you know, Lisi has been stuck in her writing cave for many months now, and since hitting her 12.1 deadline for Pretenders: License to Spill, she’s finally able to get some fresh air, stretch her legs a bit and remember what it’s like to be human. She is away today spending quality time with family, but will return next week with her usual post. She has asked me to guest blog for her, so click the wifi signal or pizza slice below to re-direct to the Office Elf blog. Happy Holidays everybody.

xx,

From Author to Awethor

I heart book tour.

fans

My world–a white office with yellow accents and a dirty computer monitor–expands. The influx of new sights and sounds fills me with inspiration and always teaches me something new. Here are some of those things:

On Being in Awe

– It’s official. I am no longer an author, I am awe-thor. I met so many incredibly talented YA writers in the past month. I am humbled and inspired.

– I spent a fortune on YA books.

On Starbucks

– Employees are not charmed by my refusal to say things like grande or venti.

– Starbucks in Columbia, SC does not offer yogurt parfait.

– Everyone standing in line looks anemic.

– I now drink tea.

Catch Me If You Can!

Look up! Higher. Higher! Like 35,000 feet up! See that plane? See the person wearing the giant headphones waving? It’s me. I’m heading from LA to DC to SC to YA’ll Fest.  Join me, won’t you?

YALLFest

That news is big, but this news is BIGGER. I will be LIVE TWEETING (@LisiHarrison) at the events and giving S.W.A.P. bracelets away to fans.

Here’s where you come in. Write in the comments section if there’s anything or anyone in particular you’d like a picture of while I’m there. Hoping for a future shout out? Put that in the comments section too and I’ll make it happen.

Pretenders Guide: Love The Day You Hate

Back when I was in school, nothing depressed me more than Sunday evening. The Canadian world outside my bedroom window was dark, cold, and still. The only light seemed to come from my desk lamp which cast a judgmental glow on the leaning tower of binders that had yet to be cracked. I was either exhausted from a sleepover or mourning the lack of messages from my latest crush. I also suffered from S.H.S. or Sudden Hate Syndrome–the fear of being despised on Monday for no reason. And then there was that homework. As much as I begged, it simply refused to do itself.

On Monday everything was fine. But that Sunday night sadness always returned, bringing with it a …

California, Here I Come

It’s awn my friends!! I’m hitting the road this week with a fresh pen and a fading tan to spread the word about Pretenders. I’ll tell you all about the new series, I’ll sign, I’ll pose, I’ll say inappropriate things by accident, give away SWAP bracelets, Pretenders pens, and oodles of love.

Got homework? Pretend it’s done. #Wearepretenders

Got practice? Pretend you have cramps. #Wearepretenders

Got no ride? Pretend you have to buy an important book for school (#Wearepretenders) and tell the most gullible licensed driver you know to take you to…
