Title Wave

Before I get to the main business of the day I want to thank all of the people who helped me raise $2600.00 for the Office of Letters and Light.  Their programs provide educators and librarians with the tools they need to inspire creativity and push students to reach goals. Participants are given free access to web forums, workbooks, writing tips, and pep talks from published authors. In addition to a completed novel they are left with a sense of accomplishment and confidence in a field that most people find intimidating and out of reach.

I truly believe that teaching creativity, grit, and innovation, are one of the best ways to guarantee your future success. For everything else there’s Google.  So keep writing. For those of you who don’t write, donate. And for those of you who don’t write or donate please help me figure out a new title for Phoenix Five.

This is me five seconds ago.

These are the latest titles I have come up with. Do you like any of them?

The Liar’s Guide to Popularity.
Down Came The Reign
We The Popular.
Lifestyles of the Fake and Fabulous.
Faking Fabulous.
Almighty Fraud
Survival of the Fakest
How to Make it in High School: An Unauthorized Lieography.
How to Fake it in High School: An Unauthorized Lieography.

Help! (That’s not a title. Just a cry for help.)

  1. D (like thee) Bartolucci says:

I personally like We The Popular! Or Faking Fabulous! 🙂 Sounds like its going to be a great read!

  2. 3 skylanders giants commercials in a row? Seriously TV? Oh and I have to take care of an egg baby for school. When it breaks I’m just gonna bring bin a stuffed chick and yell IT HATCHED!!!!!!!!

  3. I date autocorrect! I meant bring, not bin. Stupid.

  4. Wish, I don’t feel that way towards you auto correct, I hate, not date.

  6. Just autocorrect autocorrect bin your brain.

  7. I like “faking fabulous”

  8. I like two of them, Faking Fabulous and How to Fake it in High School: An Unauthorized Lieography.

  9. I really like We the Popular!! It sounds catchy 🙂

  10. Fraudacity.

Though, I’m honestly one of the few people who liked Phoenix Five. 😛

  11. I love “Down Came the Reign”!

  12. FAKING FABULOUS is definitely my favorite. I’m sorry “Phoenix Five: License to Spill” didn’t work out because I really adored the title. It felt more grown up and serious in a way, but FAKING FABULOUS also gives me that vibe, and I think it fits in with the YA market these days while still maintaining that “Lisi-ness” I’ve loved for so long. Good luck with the Title Wave. Honestly, though, I couldn’t have thought of something more fabulous than that one. 🙂 I think it’s perfect.

Fingers crossed your agent and editor feel the same!
P.S. Have a fabulous week, Lisi. See what I did there? Fabulous? Tee-hee!

  13. I like Faking Fabulous the best, but they all sound good! But I have to say, they all kind of remind me of the Clique, but considering they were best-sellers, I don’t think that’s a bad thing!! 🙂

  14. Personally, I like Lifestyles of the Fake and Fabulous, Faking Fabulous, and How to Fake it in High School: An Unauthorized Lieography.

  15. I like How to fake it in High School: An Unauthorized Lieography and Fraudactiy!

  16. I like we the popular , Fraudacity, and the liar’s guide to popularity

  17. Aw, I really liked The Phoenix Five, but I guess I missed the post where we gave our feedback.
I do think Down Came the Reign is pretty catchy, though. It has one of your trademark puns and does a good job of summarizing what the book will be about, so that one has my vote! 🙂

  18. I like:
    Down Came the Reign
How to Fake it in High School: An Unauthorized Lieography.

  19. nadiabean21 says:

Whatever happened to those bracelets? Remember the ones where you could open it and put a secret inside of it?

  20. I love
How to Fake it in High School: An Unauthorized Lieography
i thinks its catch and perfect although a bit long

  21. i like faking fabulous. ff for short 😀 whenever i see a pun from you, i think of all your other books… but i guess that’s good? haha

  22. I love faking fabulous!!! It is super cute and catchy!!!

  23. I don’t have a bed anymore. I caused all the computers in the school to have to have a system reset. I dropped my egg baby 3 times so now I have a skinless hardboiled egg to carry around all day.
me: do I have to keep carrying it around?
Teacher: yes! Of course! If you had a real disabled child you wouldn’t ditch them!
Me: of course not! But I would stop carrying a child around if it was dead, smelly, and all of its skin fell off!

  24. I like Lifestyles of the Fake and Fabulous and Survival of the Fakest. No matter what you choose for the title, I’m sure I’ll love the book. The sneak peeks have been interesting. I love books that are written in journal form.

  25. On the weekend I was volunteering with my friend for 9 hours at a kids Christmas party, we were on bouncy castle duty. As the line built up, I noticed a girl with a Monster High t-shirt! I wanted to say something but I got sidetracked, probably because I was diving into the bouncy castle to pull out a 2 year old. No joke, I did do that during the day at one point. Either way, I thought I would let you know you have fans all ages from all over, Lisi 🙂

  26. I personally like The Phoenix Five: License to Spill. I am so sad that you can’t use it, but it will always be in my heart!! Out of the suggestions you made, I liked We the Popular and Faking Fabulous. But I still REALLY like License to spill. I should probably stop living in the past. The new book will still be ah-mazing, no matter what the title. You are an awesome writer!!!!

  27. hi lisi it’s me suck up lol but i plan on reading the clique series again B{ peace

  28. Hey Lisi I just LOVE:
    The Liar’s Guide to Popularity
    and…BEST OF ALL
DOWN CAME THE REIGN that title is very Lisi in my opinion.
    H&K (Hugs and Kisses)

  29. I know its a bit late; your probably typing a new post as I type this! But my vote goes to:
We the Popular or Down Came the Reign
love you Lisi! keep on writing, what you did for letters of light was incredible! And I know that in true Lisi fashion, you will *bring it* with this next book (cue cheesy cheerleader snap and head bop)

  30. down came the reign<3 it sounds really catchy and gets your attention:) and its very non-cliche

  31. Fraudacity or Faking Amazing. Bye!!! Luh-v ya Lisi!!!!! Can’t wait for this book, whatever-your’e-gonna-call-it!!!

  32. faking fabulous 😉

  33. I love Faking Fabulous and We The Poupular! I’m so excited for your next book! (:
